Introduction
After graduating from Eötvös Loránd University in English language and literature in 1995 and German language and literature in 1997, I began teaching English for Tourism and Business Purposes at BBS as a freelance teacher in 1999. I have been an accredited examiner in English at the BBS Language Examination Centre since 2004. I started working as an assistant lecturer at BBS in 2009, then as a lecturer in 2014 at the Department of Languages for Business Communication. In 2013 I created virtual classrooms for my language classes using wiki pages, which were part of the European Language Award winning 21st Century Skills – Virtual Language Learning project.; Since September 2015 I have been working as a coordinator of studies at the department. From 2015 to 2017 I participated in the ICCAGE (Intercultural Communicative Competence – A Competitive Advantage for Global Employability) Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership project. The project aimed at developing students’ intercultural communicative skills employing digital technology and participatory learning methods. In April 2016 I successfully defended my PhD dissertation The Pedagogical Purposes of the Use of Virtual Learning Environments and Web 2.0 Tools in Tertiary Language Teaching in a Blended Learning Environment at the English Language Programme in Language Pedagogy at ELTE.;
From 2017 to 2018 I took part in a research project about autonomous language learning at the BBS Institute of Foreign Languages and Communication. The project’s aim was to map students’ motivation, willingness to learn independently and their disposition towards and experience in autonomous language learning, as well as to investigate teachers’ perceptions about autonomous learning. In 2018 I was part of a team, which developed project-based tasks for the language subjects of the new curriculum introduced in 2017.; At the moment I am a project manager in two Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership projects. The main objective of the Incollab project (Interdisciplinary collaborative approaches to learning and teaching in Higher Education, 2019-2021) is to develop innovative teaching modules in international collaboration, which are suitable for content teaching, as well as language teaching. The Corall project (Coaching-oriented Online Resources for the Autonomous Learning of LSP, 2019-2021) is coordinated by the Department of Languages for Business Communication (project leader: Ágnes Pál) and it aims at supporting autonomous language learning by developing tools and modules for LSP. My research areas include the use of ICT tools in language teaching and learning, as well as autonomous learning and how to enhance students’ ability and willingness to study independently, including informal learning. I regularly publish and present the results of my research at conferences. I am a member of IATEFL (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language).
