About the Programme

The new millennium is reshaping the world of business: the business model, the value and supply chain and the networked nature of business relationships are all changing. In line with this, the management-organizational model changes in parallel: the focus is on leadership that implements change. In addition to knowledge-based skills, soft skills are becoming increasingly important as a key competency of a leader. The 21st century synergy-broker leader relies on consciously committed empowerment, win-win relationships with stakeholders and agility and building on large databases, digitally models and analyzes. In the new leadership model, value-based leadership, open, two-way communication, formulating an attractive vision, commitment and engagement, emotional intelligence, collaborative conflict management, self-knowledge, and self-esteem are all essential. The Masters degree program prepares students to meet the challenges by transferring and developing the necessary knowledge, abilities and skills. In addition to the innovative and new content of the training, instead of the traditional, frontal, written material-based education, our students acquire knowledge in the framework of work-intensive, small group sessions. In addition to knowledge transfer, it is important to develop co-operative willingness, trust and and practice-oriented development of leadership skills.

Optional Specializations

Controlling and Managerial Decision Support
The specialization focuses on controlling processes and methods that support managerial decisions. The aim of the specialization is for students, equipped with their professional knowledge, to be able to participate in the design and development of controlling systems in response to current business trends. During the specialization, students become familiar with controlling models with a business partnering approach in manufacturing, service and commercial enterprises also. Additionally, they become capable of organizing controlling processes in project-based organizations and acquire modern knowledge in managerial reporting systems and data management. Key topics include planning and forecasting, financial and project controlling, business partnering, business intelligence systems, data management, managerial reporting, sustainability reporting, and consulting.
Human Resource Development and leadership
Specialization can be chosen on Faculty of Finance and Accountancy. The focus of the specialization is to develop approach and mentality from top-management viewpoint, with special emphasis on human resource-oriented knowledge, skills, and competencies. The purpose of the specialization is, that graduates, understanding continuous need of change, develop capabilities of thinking, analyzing and decision making in a cooperative, responsible and ethical way with the related leadership skills acquired. Core topics (courses): Alternative streams in Human Resource Management; Coaching, mentoring; Managing family businesses; Cooperation and conflict management; Leadership, motivation, and commitment, Strategic HRM, Managing innovative Processes, Developing organizational culture; Change management, Negotiation.

Knowledge of economics and social sciences: Holistic marketing, Advanced corporate finance, mathematical-statistical analysis methods, decision theory and methodological knowledge, managerial economics, advanced economic policy.

Leadership and organization expertise: Organizational theories, organizational behavior and leadership, strategic management and planning, value creation process management, integrated IT systems, responsible management, project management in practice, controlling system design and operation.
