Human Resource Management

About the Programme

The aim of the Human Resources BA programme is to train economists who are able to analyse and solve practical problems related to human capital. Such skills are of increasing importance in the economy, combining both economic and financial knowledge with sound HR expertise. Graduates are able to analyse the structure and operation of labour markets and provide the human resources needed to implement the workplace strategy in question. Graduates are also able to create specific positions and select suitable employees to undertake them. In addition, graduates can develop human resources policies and manage existing organisational knowledge to promote fair employment and contribute to the personal well-being of workers. A special feature of the programme, in conjunction with a focus on effective and successful employment, is to concentrate on the efficiency of Human Resources Management.

In the Human Resources course, we train economists who become well-versed in the economic sciences, are methodologically prepared and have an adequate professional and general education. Our graduate students are able to utilize their knowledge of Economics, Business, Management, Psychology, Sociology, Ethics, Political Science, Public Administration, Law and Communication, in order to:

  • Perform human resource management functions in various organizations
  • Apply methods and techniques to prepare human resource development and utilization decisions.
  • Perform service functions in personnel, labour market and interest representation organizations, and to coordinate workplace interest reconciliation processes.
  • Analyse labour markets.
  • Obtain and process information, conduct surveys and reports.
  • Complete organizational, analysis, planning and decision preparation tasks.
  • Work independently and in teams.
  • Utilize negotiation and presentation techniques n and use modern computer and IT tools.


Content of the Programme

The fundamentals of Economics, Methodology and Business:
(mathematics, statistics, IT, micro and macroeconomics, international economics, finance, economic law, marketing, accounting, management, business communication, foreign language for business)

The fundamentals of Social Sciences:
(general and economic law, economic history, sociology, psychology, philosophy)

The fundamentals of Human Resources:
(human resource management, business communication, the economics of labour market institutions, incentive systems, organizational and work psychology, labour relations system, labour law, career management, organizational behaviour, IT for HR, organizational development)

Career opportunities

Graduates will be suitable for positions that include, but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Performing various Human Resource management tasks (recruitment, selection, incentive management, performance management, etc.).
- Human Resource development activities.
- Supporting management and consulting .
- Management, analysis and planning tasks.
- Preparation of labour market analyses.
- Personnel work, recruitment, career planning.
