The central task of the centre is to provide the most current information through its research, on the state of the subject, to the citizens of BBS, as well as to its partners and external stakeholders. We provide new knowledge and research results for the compulsory BA course "Responsible and Sustainable Company". In addition, in order to publish the topic more widely, we prepare case study-based teaching materials that provide the opportunity of incorporation into other subjects and courses. We also participate in domestic and international conferences and projects, in order to create and utilise knowledge related to sustainability on as wide a scale as possible. Below you can read about our highlighted projects and our roles in them.
Responsible and sustainable company course
"Responsible and Sustainable Company" is mandatory in all undergraduate programmes at the university. The course covers the most important concepts of sustainable / responsible business operations. The goal is for students to become familiar with the most important models in the field and to enable themselves to participate in sustainability programmes. The staff of our centre also take part in the teaching of the subject, and we use the results of our research and tenders throughout the course.
Intensive week
At BBS, we hold two project weeks a year, one in the fall and one in the spring. CESIBUS also participates in these project weeks (or intensive weeks). Our courses dealt with the sustainability impacts and circular economy in fashion industry and the ESG of large companies in Autumn 2023.
BBS Virtual Job Fair
At the BBS Virtual Job Fair, it was a tradition to hold a round table on sustainability with the participation of company partners. Sustainability plays a prominent role in BBS's introductory interface.
ESSSR partner network
CESIBUS is a member of the Hamburg-based European School of Sustainability Science and Research (ESSSR) network, with whom we co-operate in several areas, one being in the submission of a Horizon 2020 tender application. ESSSR is an inter-university consortium whose members share a common interest in the sustainability sciences and issues related to sustainable development, and with the goal of co-ordinating related research and education.
Researchers' Night at BBS
In the Autumn of 2022 and 2023 our colleagues had sessions about the ecological footprint and sustainability impacts of food and dining.
Workshop as part of the MCC Roma Talent Programme
Krisztina Szegedi and Zsuzsanna Győri participated as trainers in the MCC Aranypánt Scholarship Programme. The talent development programme is open to Roma youth in their final year or already graduated.
In the academic year 2021-22, the 6 workshops with 11 students were entitled Corporate Social Responsibility - The role of companies in protecting the world. We engaged in an open and useful dialogue with talented young people on the dimensions of sustainability, the SDGs and levels of responsibility.
