Debate Competition and Preparatory Training

A debate competition is an academic competition where students present arguments for and against a given topic (proposition) in a logically structured debate, in teams of 3.
The aim of the debate competition and training is to develop the critical thinking, argumentation and public speaking skills of Hungarian and international students, and to provide them with the opportunity to discuss current, socially relevant issues in a structured and cultured manner. The competition promotes intercultural dialogue and the practice of professional communication in Hungarian and English. Another aim of the competition and/or training is to allow students to test themselves in debate situations in a safe, supportive environment, develop their self-confidence and opinion-forming skills, while learning to respect other points of view and the principles of constructive debate.
We welcome Hungarian and international BGE students to the competition.
Members of the top three teams receive a cash prize and certificates.
