Overview:

Stipendium Hungaricum is Hungary’s most prestigious higher education scholarship programme, launched by the Hungarian Government to support talented international students. It offers fully funded opportunities to study at top Hungarian universities. In general, students can apply for all study levels — bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programmes. Some fields are available both as full degree options and as partial (exchange) studies. However, the exact types of programmes available to applicants from each country depend on the bilateral agreement between Hungary and the Ministry of Education (or relevant authority) of the applicant’s home country.

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the official website of the scholarship programme: www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu

If you are interested in the Diaspora scholarship, please visit their website for more information: https://diasporascholarship.hu/en/

We encourage you to get familiar with the rules and regulations of the programme prior to submitting your application. Detailed information – including the Operational Regulations – is available here: https://stipendiumhungaricum.hu/scholarship-holders/

Who can apply?

The programme is open to applicants from more than 90 partner countries around the world. You must:

  • Be at least 18 years old by 31 August of the year of application
  • Not hold Hungarian citizenship (dual citizens are not eligible)
  • Be nominated by your country’s designated Sending Partner (usually a ministry or national agency)

For more information about your home country’s sending partner, please select your country from the drop-down list here: https://stipendiumhungaricum.hu/partners/
