Pannonia Scholarship Programme – Call for Applications for Long-term Mobility Programme for the 2026/27 Academic Year
The Office for International Relations of the Budapest University of Economics and Business (BUEB) is pleased to announce a Call for Applications for study abroad within the framework of the Pannonia Scholarship Programme.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The aim of the study mobility is to provide students with the opportunity to gain international academic, professional, linguistic, and cultural experience at one of BUEB’s partner institutions.
Participation in the programme contributes to students’:
(1)academic progress,
(2) professional development,
(3) personal and intercultural competencies.
Within the framework of the program, successful applicants:
- may pursue their studies at the host institution free of tuition fees,
- and receive a subsistence grant under the Pannonia Scholarship Programme.
The award of the scholarship is conditional and becomes final only subject to the availability of institutional funding.
Please note that this opportunity is not available to students participating in the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme.
Students may participate in mobility periods totaling a maximum of 12 months per study cycle, regardless of the number and type of mobility activities. Within the framework of this call, only students enrolled in a double-degree programme are eligible to spend more than one semester abroad; all other students may spend a maximum of one semester at a partner institution of BUEB.
Conditions of Participation and Important Information
Participation in the application process is subject to the following conditions:
(1) Applicants must have an active student status at BUEB and must be enrolled to a degree programme during the mobility period.
(2) Applicants must have completed at least one semester of studies prior to the application, except for students enrolled in master’s programmes.
(3) Applications must comply with formal requirements. Selection is based on the cumulative corrected credit index, academic and public activities, and motivation letter. In the event of a tie, additional documents may be requested.
(4) Applicants must have at least B2 level proficiency in the language(s) of instruction or be enrolled in a foreign-language program. In the absence of an official language certificate, a certificate issued by the Foreign Language Centre of BUEB is also acceptable. For some partner institutions, knowledge of multiple languages may be required; further details can be found in the list of available partner institutions and in the application system.
Professional and administrative conditions of mobility
(1) Prior to the start of the mobility, the conclusion of a Grant Agreement is mandatory.
(2) A Learning Agreement (study plan) must be prepared before the start of the mobility; however, it may be modified after arrival to the host institution (within 5 weeks from the start of the mobility).
(3) The studies undertaken abroad must be relevant to the student’s field of study and fit into their academic programme.
(4) Upon completion of the mobility, the host institution issues official certificates (Transcript of Records / Certificate of Attendance), the submission of which is mandatory for the closure of the mobility period and the application.
(5) Students must complete at least 15 ECTS credits at the host institution.
(6) Students must maintain an active student status at BUEB during the mobility period, which requires registration for at least one course at the sending university (the requirements of the said course may be fulfilled by applying for an individual study schedule).
(7) BUEB ensures full recognition of studies completed abroad provided they are included in the approved Learning Agreement.
Important restrictions
• Mobility cannot be undertaken during the semester of graduation, (with the exception of those master students who apply for the Double Degree programme to the University of Stirling.)
• If a student is successfully selected in two consecutive application cycles, but withdraws after nomination on both occasions, they may only apply again after skipping one full application cycle.
