We are glad to announce an unparalleled opportunity for students enrolled in Marketing MA program to learn about the global luxury sector. Under the Pannonia Excellence Scholarship Program, we are offering a prestigious, scholarship-supported one-semester academic exchange at one of the world's leading institutions for luxury management: the Glion Institute of Higher Education near Montreux, Switzerland.

This call is exclusively for full-degree for students enrolled in Marketing MA program for the Autumn semester 2026 (September 2026 – January 2027). This program represents a strategic opportunity for ambitious students aiming to build a distinguished career in the competitive global luxury market.

2. The Pannonia Excellence Scholarship Program

The Pannonia Scholarship Program is a highly respected national initiative designed to foster academic excellence and enhance the international profile of Hungarian higher education. The Excellence Scholarship component of this program is specifically aimed at supporting high-achieving Master's and Doctoral students, enabling them to study at the world's elite universities, specifically those ranked within the top 250 by the Times Higher Education (THE) or Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) world university rankings.

The program provides an outstanding financial support, allowing scholars to focus on their academic and professional development with significantly reduced financial burden. This call for applications offers BUEB's top Marketing MA students the chance to join this elite group of scholars and gain an incomparable educational experience.

The award of the scholarship is conditional and becomes final only subject to the availability of institutional funding.

4. Scholarship Coverage & Financial Details

The Pannonia Excellence Scholarship provides a remarkably generous comprehensive grant of up to a maximum of 10,000,000 HUF per student to cover the costs of the semester abroad.

This grant is structured to support the primary expenses associated with international study. The grant is designed to cover the following costs:

  • Monthly Stipend: 500,000 HUF for Switzerland (Group I country)
  • Tuition Fee Support: To cover the academic costs at the host institution.
  • Travel Support: To contribute to travel costs.
  • Accommodation Support: To contribute to housing costs.

Students are personally responsible for any remaining balance related to tuition fees, accommodation, travel, insurance, and personal living expenses. Please note that the scholarship is transferred as a single lump sum, and students are kindly advised to manage this amount carefully, as no additional funding can be provided later by BUEB.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT, WHILE THE SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDES SUBSTANTIAL FINANCIAL SUPPORT, THE OVERALL COSTS OF THE SEMESTER ABROAD MAY VARY SIGNIFICANTLY DEPENDING ON THE ACCOMMODATION CHOICES, AND FLUCTUATIONS IN THE HUF/CHF EXCHANGE RATES. AS A RESULT, THE SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT MAY NOT FULLY COVER ALL EXPENSES, AND SIGNIFICANT PERSONAL FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION (SELF-FUNDING) MAY THEREFORE BE REQUIRED.

Please also note that the maximum scholarship amount of 10,000,000 HUF represents an upper funding limit. In accordance with the program regulations, only the actual and justified costs related to the approved scholarship categories (monthly stipend, tuition fee support, travel support, and accommodation support) may be financed. Consequently, if the total eligible and documented costs do not reach the maximum amount, the full 10,000,000 HUF cannot be disbursed, and only the amount corresponding to the actual incurred costs may be awarded.

  • Motivation letter

Additional documents can be:

  • Proof of TDK/OTDK results or other academic competition achievements (1st–3rd place or special award)
  • Proof of other outstanding activities (scientific, sports, artistic, voluntary or public)

Please note that all required documents must be uploaded to the application system before submitting the application. Following the technical evaluation process, applicants who are eligible for the mobility programme may be granted the opportunity by the Office for International Relations (NKI) to submit missing documents or corrections as part of a deficiency procedure. In such cases, applicants will have 5 days from the date of notification to upload the required documents directly to the application system. Documents sent via e-mail will not be accepted. Please also note that applications for which all mandatory documents have not been uploaded by the end of the deficiency submission deadline will be automatically rejected.

The evaluation of applications is based on the students’ cumulative adjusted credit index (KKKI). As significant differences may occur between programmes and cohorts due to variations in academic curricula, and in order to ensure equal treatment of applicants, the ranking of KKKI values is carried out separately for each programme and cohort. Accordingly, applicants within the same programme and cohort are divided into 60 categories proportionally to the number of applicants (number of applicants / 60). Students in the first category receive 60 points, students in the second category receive 59 points, and so on. Any additional points defined in the present Call for Applications are added to this calculated score.

All applicants who meet the formal requirements of the present Call for Applications are required to participate in an oral interview as part of the selection procedure. The interview forms an integral part of the evaluation process and provides the Selection Committee with the opportunity to assess the applicants’ motivation, communication skills, and suitability for the Pannónia Excellence Scholarship.

Please note that the decision made by Budapest University of Economics and Business regarding the selection of applicants becomes final only if the student also successfully passes the oral interview and/or any additional selection procedure required by the host institution.

Application deadline: 3 June 2026 11:59

For any inquiries regarding the application process or the programs, please contact the International Relations Office at mobility@uni-bge.hu.
