Day of Hungarian Science 2025

Interdisciplinary approaches to addressing the opportunities and challenges posed by digitalization and artificial intelligence

For more than twenty years each November the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) organises events for the Celebration of Hungarian Science. This distinguished event of Hungarian scientific life includes programmes held both in Hungary and abroad. Following suit, Budapest University of Economics and Business is joining this year’s event by organising a conference entitled: Interdisciplinary approaches to addressing the opportunities and challenges posed by digitalization and artificial intelligence.

As part of the BUEB Day of Hungarian Science, this international conference brings together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers from diverse disciplines to explore the multifaceted impacts of digitalization and artificial intelligence on society, economy, culture, and science. By fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, the event aims to deepen our understanding of both the opportunities and the challenges posed by these rapidly evolving technologies. Participants will examine critical issues such as labor market transformation, education, innovation, digital governance, ethical AI, and the reshaping of human interactions. The conference serves as a platform to share research, exchange best practices, and develop collaborative strategies for responsible and inclusive technological development.

Date: 13 November 2025

Venue: BGE UniZone, 1148 Budapest, Bagolyvár street 6–10.

Participation in the conference is free, but registration is required.

Organizing Committee:
Prof. Dr. György Andor (Chair); Dr. habil. Krisztina Szegedi (Vice-Chair), Dr. Zsuzsanna Győri, Zarándné Dr. Vámosi Kornélia, Dr. Kozma Tímea, Dr. Hegedűs Szilárd, Dr. Titanilla Mezőné Oravecz

We invite individual and collaborative proposals on a range of formats which engage with these broad questions and develop further the themes below.

  • AI, Work, and the Digital Economy: Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Social Impacts
  • Digital Transformation, Education, and Human-Centered Governance
  • Ethics, Trust, and Regulation in the Age of AI
  • Ageing Well in an Ageing Society: Sustainability and Digital Solutions

    The conference offers four publication opportunities:
  • publishing in a peer-reviewed conference proceeding with an ISBN number containing studies with a separate DOI number. Paper submission information will be launched on the website soon;
  • publishing in Budapest University of Economics and Business’s open access journal Prosperitas which will publish a special issue titled “Ageing well in an ageing society: sustainable issues” based on the conference lectures.
