WIZZ Youth Challenge – Strategic Case Study Competition for Higher Education Students


The WIZZ Youth Challenge is an international case study competition for university students, designed to provide participants with the opportunity to showcase their business thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity through a real industry challenge. During the competition, teams develop solutions to a real business problem related to Wizz Air’s operations, while gaining valuable professional experience and networking opportunities.

The grand prize includes unlimited travel for one year and WIZZ Credit, in accordance with the official Terms and Conditions.

The competition focuses on a current business challenge related to Wizz Air’s operations, including topics such as:

  • growth and expansion strategy,
  • customer experience and digitalization,
  • cost optimization and business decision-making.

Teams are required to develop a structured, business-oriented solution and present it professionally.


Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • be active university or college students,
  • come from countries within the Wizz Air network,
  • be enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral (PhD) programs.

Team size

  • 3–4 members per team,
  • team members may come from the same or different academic backgrounds.

The competition is especially recommended for students interested in business, economics, engineering, IT, or data-driven decision-making.

 

Competition timeline and key dates

  • Application deadline: March 1
  • Case study release: March 2
  • Preparation and case development: March 2 – March 15
  • Semi-final/shortlist selection: March 30 – April 2
  • Final: Live presentation before Wizz Air’s professional jury in Budapest: May 6–7
  • Award ceremony: May 7

Accommodation and Wizz Air flight tickets related to the Budapest final are provided by the organizer. Further details are available in the official competition announcement.

 

Evaluation criteria

Submissions will be evaluated based on:

  • accurate understanding of the problem,
  • innovativeness and creativity of the solution,
  • business feasibility and realism,
  • logical structure and data-driven reasoning,
  • quality of presentation and professional delivery.

 

Prizes

1st place team:
Each team member receives a 1-year Wizz Discount Club membership, which includes free flight bookings through the Wizz Air Call Center until June 1, 2027.

2nd place team:
Each team member receives €500 in WIZZ Credit, redeemable within the Wizz Air network, with travel to be completed by June 1, 2027.

3rd place team:
Each team member receives €250 in WIZZ Credit, redeemable within the Wizz Air network, with travel to be completed by June 1, 2027.


If any of the above benefits cannot be used for any reason, Wizz Air will provide an equivalent alternative benefit.
