Community Month at BUEB – SPRING 2025
If It’s Spring, It’s Time for BUEB Community Month Again! As in every semester, this spring we are bringing you exciting programs once again. This time, the focus is on environmental protection and sustainability—fittingly so, as our events will take place from World Water Day (March 22) to Earth Day (April 22). Sustainability is one of BUEB’s core value, and our community is committed to it. This is why we are offering a variety of programs for all university members this spring as well. What can you expect during this month?
Exhibition at BUEB Zugló Campus
Using carefully selected images from the Fortepan archive, we aim to bring you closer to the delicate relationship between humans and their environment. The goal of this photo exhibition is to deepen your understanding of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Established in 2015, these 17 goals address the most critical sustainability challenges of the period leading up to 2030.
Community Tree Planting
Trees purify the air, cool their surroundings, provide shelter for various species, and even help combat climate change by capturing carbon dioxide. Expanding green spaces is also a key priority in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, which is why we consider it important to take action for our environment. Join us as a volunteer and help make BUEB greener together!
Did you know? Your volunteer work can earn you up to 1 credit! To qualify, you need to complete at least 15 hours of verified volunteer work. Learn more here: Recognition of Volunteer Activities.
Online Training on CoSpace: Get to Know the Sustainable Development Goals!
Interested in why sustainability is so important? Want to learn how to incorporate sustainable thinking into your future career? An interactive online training session will soon be available, providing you with practical examples of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. This course will help you integrate sustainability into both your daily life and professional career for a more livable future.
BUEB Film Club
The BUEB Film Club continues! We will once again watch a film that highlights a significant social issue. After the screening, we invite you to an informal discussion where we can delve deeper into the questions raised by the film.
BUEB Talk: Livable cities
One of the highlight events of Community Month is a thought-provoking and unconventional discussion exploring the challenges we face in creating harmony between society and nature.
