As part of the Month of Community, we are preparing a special program focused on our digital dependencies. The goal of the roadshow is to provide practical and comprehensive knowledge about sustainability and help us create an enjoyable and sustainable lifestyle for the long term. During the 2-hour workshop, we will host a forum to explore what a carbon footprint is and how digital dependency affects us.
In the interactive sessions, we will demonstrate the impact of digitalization on our daily lives, particularly the carbon emissions associated with the internet and smart devices, and explore ways to reduce our emissions.
Date: October 29, 5-7 PM
Location: BBU UniZone (Bagolyvár utca 6-10.)

What to Expect?
A conversation about sustainability:
In the first part, participants will engage in a discussion about sustainability, individual responsibility, and finding ways out of our digital dependency. Together, we will explore the ecological footprint of our everyday actions and search for alternative solutions.
The carbon footprint of digital devices:
The second part focuses on the carbon footprint of digital devices. Although the emissions of digital devices are still not widely known, there is a rapidly growing trend in this area. By 2025, smart devices could account for nearly 4% of our global carbon footprint, which is a significant figure. We will take a detailed look at how the university community, as users of digital devices, can play a role in reducing emissions.
Why Should You Attend?
Our aim is not to create guilt or shame. Instead, we aim to foster a willingness to act and strengthen community-building, showing what concrete steps we can take at both individual and community levels to promote sustainability.
We warmly welcome all university members to join us in working together for a sustainable future!
