The predecessor of the Faculty of Commerce, Hospitality and Tourism (FCHT) was the Pest Academy of Commerce, founded in 1857, which - expanding with the Eastern Academy of Commerce in 1899 - was the first commercial college in the Central European region and in including the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. Specialists in commerce and banking were trained at the school.
The motto of the six decade old Faculty of International Management and Business (FIMB), is ‘We train for International Business’. The Faculty approach provides students and lecturers innovation, the creative teaching methods and an inspiring learning environment. Our programmes on foreign languages, in addition to the dual degree and mobility opportunities with more than 120 foreign partner universities, provide a truly international academic environment.
The history of the Faculty of Finance and Accountancy (FFA) can be traced back to the common origin of Hungarian higher economic professional programmes in the Pest Academy of Commerce founded in 1857, and then the Eastern Academy of Commerce.
