A road to a scientific work 1.

Syllabus

Do you like challenges? Get the most from your creativity, choose an interesting topic and discover the joy of creative work with your peers. Students who are beginners in research can take smaller steps on the road toward a scientific work, advanced students will recognize its beauty, what has been undiscovered yet, as they take larger steps. In the framework of cooperative work, the participants delve into a smaller project task, e.g. in the topics of responsible behaviour, sustainability, conscious lifestyle in different fields; presenting their results to each other and discussing them. The course, which provides you 2 credit points, will help you with this process, and hopefully, you will hardly wait for it to continue. During the course, you will receive all the help from the instructors and the graduated students, who are invited as guest lecturers, and will present their findings and give a look into the background of the process.

Global challenges in the coming decade

Syllabus

The era of globalization has brought up significant changes, former third world countries have developed to regional powers, former super-powers like Russia (Soviet Union) have declined significantly. New technological developments together with intensifying trade relations have increased the economic dependencies in the world and the Corona-crisis has obviously intensified the chances and risks of the different continents in their political and economical perspectives.

Asia, with China in the middle, is regarded as the future economic center of the world economy. Is that perspective justified and what would it mean to the rest of the world? What kind of political implications will be the result of this possible development in the next decade?

How are the United States reacting now under the Biden administration on this outlook? What are their plans for the near and middle future? Will the US still dominate the world in the next ten years?

And what about Europe? Can we compete? Are we strong enough to challenge the other two powers/ continents in our efforts to keep and develop further our level of wealth and prosperity?
