Míra Borbála Karas, psychologist.
“A warm welcome to you!
I earned my degree at ELTE, specialising in Counselling and School Psychology. During my thesis research and subsequent professional internships, I focused primarily on women's well-being, social inequalities, motherhood, and issues related to feminism.
I gained most of my professional experience working with university students: I volunteered as a peer counsellor, worked as a university psychologist and trainer, and held psychoeducational programs in English for international students. As a research assistant at the University of Seville, I contributed to a scientific publication and participated in developing an empathy-building intervention. Alongside my university work, I am currently participating in the family and couples therapist training of the Hungarian Family Therapy Association, which further deepens my systemic thinking.
I believe that the foundation of counselling is a safe, accepting environment and a collaborative partnership. University years hold many challenges—gaining independence, fitting into new communities, performance expectations, and planning for the future—so it is no wonder that we sometimes feel stuck.
During my psychological counselling sessions, I can support you in the following areas:
● strengthening self-awareness and self-confidence,
● managing stress and anxiety,
● motivation and learning difficulties, time management issues,
● social, family, or relationship problems; gaining independence from parents,
● challenges related to women’s life situations,
● Life-management blocks and decision-making situations.
Feel free to reach out to me if you wish to work in a supportive and accepting environment to find and mobilise your own internal resources.”
