At BBU, during the summer of 2022, we undertook the central coordination, development, and expansion of mental health counseling services, transitioning from a previous campus-level approach. Since September 2022, professionals operating within the framework of BBU Student Counseling have been offering cross-faculty services to students grappling with life management and mental health challenges. This counseling service is provided free of charge to BBU students with an active legal status and is available in both Hungarian and English.
The team comprises two full-time staff members dedicated to mental health and psychological counseling, along with four part-time colleagues who, in addition to their roles in teaching or support areas, are committed to assisting students.
Beyond mental health counseling, BBU Student Counseling extends its support to students in the realms of career counseling, equal opportunities counseling, and learning methodology counseling. Three additional staff members collaborate with the mental health counselors in these areas.
To ensure the highest standards, professional, ethical, and administrative norms related to counseling are articulated in a comprehensive professional protocol, which undergoes periodic updates as needed.
