Everybody experiences difficult times in their lives, and students are no exception. Students may want someone to listen to them, help them orient themselves in life, or to just be with them when they are enduring pain and fear. Usually, we turn to people we know, but often, everyone can benefit from receiving an outside perspective, given by an outsider. Fortunately, in today’s world, it is becoming increasingly accepted to go to an impartial professional, to tell him or her our difficulties, and then work together to find a solution to the challenges.
BBS provides an opportunity for students at the institution to seek mental health counselling if they have a personal problem, have learning difficulties, or if their mental health requires it.
Counselling is a 45-minute conversation in which, with the support of a helping professional, both student and counsellor work together to explore and then resolve a variety of mental illnesses.
The service, led by Dr. Szilvia Szántó, a student life counsellor, is free and can be a great help on even for just one occasion.
