Short summary | What is innovation? How it became the most important factor of economic growth and competitiveness? What does it mean for countries and companies? This course aims to introduce for the participants the definition, the types, and the importance of innovation and innovation management for an organisation. The discussion will rely on the basics of the evolutionary theory of innovation, the dynamic model of innovation, and some concepts of innovation management. Understanding these concepts will provide the participants with the necessary information and tools to be able to actively engage in the second part of the course which will discuss real-world case studies. The course will include practical examples and case studies to offer an interactive way to understand what kind of challenges firms have to meet to remain competitive in an innovation-driven economy. Learning outcome: Understand the types of innovation and the innovation process.Learn theoretical approaches and tools to study innovation and apply these concepts to real business organisations.Gain insights into how large and small companies deal with technological challenges, comprehend the complexities of innovation.
