Introduction
I am Csilla Petykó (PhD), in the summer of 2023 I will have been working at the Department of Tourism for 25 years. I can say with certainty that a person has been working in a job for such a long time if he loves what he does. I really like teaching, I really like working with young people. My first degree was in Transport Systems Management at the Budapest Technical University, Faculty of Transport Engineering, where I graduated as a diploma transport engineer. I started my professional career at the Budapest Transport Company. I worked first in the Department of Network Development and then in the Tram Operation Directorate, where my main task was to plan the public transport connections for the Budapest-Vienna World Expo, which was planned at that time. Later, at the Directorate General for Traffic and Technical Services, I was responsible for studying the capital's public transport network and proposing changes to improve its efficiency. Before I came to work at the College of Commerce, Hospitality and Tourism (one of the predecessor institutions of the BBS), I completed the Bachelor Course of Tourism, and obtained a diploma in Tourism and Hotel Management at the FCHT, which provided a good basis for my future work. Today, my main subjects still show that the interrelationship between transport and tourism, and various aspects of regional and destination development are at the heart of my interestsI obtained my doctorate at the Doctoral School of Earth Sciences, Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Pécs. My PhD thesis was on the development and spatial aspects of Hungarian camping tourism. Campsites are still one of my favourite research topics. In addition to teaching, I have also been involved in research on tourism in Budapest, with a special focus on creative tourism, and on a very important issue for me, accessibility. In the framework of an international Erasmus+ project, I was introduced to digital storytelling, which brought a new dimension to my teaching. I am always looking for new opportunities, new methods to use. Working with students, whether it is a simple seminar or a complex TDK research project, is the most important motivation for me.
