Introduction
My name is Sára Hegedüs, I joined the Department of Tourism at BGE KVIK in 2022 as an assistant lectrurer. I came back to my alma mater, as I graduated in Tourism and Hotels here in 2005, the same year I graduated in Sociology at ELTE. While I was still a student, it became clear to me that I wanted to work in tourism. In January 2005, I joined the Hungarian National Tourist Office as a research trainee. After completing my internship in the national tourism marketing organisation, I was immediately employed as a communications officer, followed by a regional and product manager position. In 2014, my interest in sustainability led me to volunteer for the Heroes for Responsible Dining Foundation, where I have been working ever since, sometimes as a volunteer and sometimes on projects. Developing an educational programme for children is my biggest achievement at the Foundation. My love of education led me to Corvinus University of Budapest in 2018, where I started my PhD studies. My research topic is the impact of social norms on pro-environmental tourism consumer behaviour. At BCE, I taught the Hospitality and Gastronomy and Tourism Marketing courses in Hungarian and the Food service management course in English. Between 2018-21 I was member of the team EcoVeloTour Interreg project on ecotourism, where I was responsible for research and communication. It is very important for me to cooperate and build good relations with colleagues and students, and I am happy to participate in the organisation of study competitions and to act as a consultant. At BCE, I have led thesis writing seminars for five semesters and I have also enjoyed assisting students in TDK competitions.
At the Department of Tourism at BGE KVIK, I teach Tourism Marketing, Introduction to Sustainable Tourism and Student Project.
