Introduction

My name is Vanda Horváth. I joined the Budapest University of Economics and Business Faculty of Commerce, Hospitality and Tourism team in 2024 as a Professor of practice at the Department of Tourism. I obtained my Master’s degree as an Economist in Tourism and Management at the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Pécs. Currently, I am a PhD candidate at the Doctoral School of Entrepreneurship and Business at BUEB, where my research focuses on tourism marketing and consumer habits across generations.
I have over two decades of professional experience in tourism and marketing. Throughout my career, I have been responsible for destination marketing, the development and sales of tourism products and events at the Municipality of Budapest and its tourism marketing organizations. In profit-oriented enterprises, I have managed branding and team development, as well as customer relationships. I have also gained eight years of international experience, having worked at travel agencies and multinational corporations.
In recent years, I have contributed to higher education as a lecturer and mentor. As a full-time faculty member, I teach courses in the Bachelor’s and Master’s Programmes, as well as in Short-Cycle Vocational Programmes (FOSZK). Since the spring semester of 2024/25, I have been the Program leader of the English-language Tourism and Catering Bachelor’s program.
