Introduction
I hold a PhD in Language Pedagogy (2023), an MA in English Studies, and a BA in Hungarian Language and Literature from Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. I began my career at Lónyay Reformed Secondary School, where I taught from 1993 to 1997. Following this, I served as a fellow-researcher in the Centre for Hermeneutical Research at Károli Gáspár University, Budapest. My responsibilities involved editing and proof-reading manuscripts, and managing the publishing process. This period (1998 – 2004) was marked by a professional interest in literature, primarily in William Blake’s poetry and engravings. In 2005, I transitioned to a career as a full-time freelance language teacher, specializing in English for Specific Purposes. I taught adults in evening and in-company courses across various fields, including engineering, human resources, business, and economics. Since 2015, I have been a faculty member at Budapest Business University, where I apply my entrepreneurial experience to my teaching. I am an instructor of various subjects ranging from Business English, Presentation skills, Career Building to Business communication. My current research interests lie in bridging the gap between learners’ needs, academic requirements and workplace demands. It’s not what we expect from life, but what life expects from us. – Victor Frankl
