1st International Visitor Economy Conference

People, Places and Partnerships

The Centre of Excellence for Visitor Economy of the Budapest Business University is organizing its first international scientific conference with the title People, Places and Partnerships.

The main intention of our community is to create a regular platform for an inspiring, inclusive and innovative exchange of ideas. We greatly look forward to receiving scientific presentations and manuscripts in the field of tourism, hospitality and related disciplines. We invite university lecturers, researchers, doctoral and master’s students to participate. The conference sections are the following.

Full papers based on the studies presented at the conference will have the opportunity for peer-reviewed publication in selected journals. Send your manuscripts to visitor.conference@uni-bge.hu until 31 May 2024 indicating the target journal.

• Turizmus Bulletin: visitor economy will be the topic of the 4th issue of 2024 (published in December) for which studies from the 1st International Visitor Economy Conference are expected in both English and Hungarian. The author guidelines are available here.
• Tourism and Rural Development Studies: the aim of this peer-reviewed journal is to provide an opportunity for those interested in tourism and rural development to publish and learn about research results. Papers from the conference are expected in both English and Hungarian. More information about the journal can be found here, the author guide is available here.
• Prosperitas: an internationally indexed journal of the Budapest Business University will provide the opportunity to publish studies in English. After revision and acceptance, studies are immediately published online and then sorted into journal issues. More information about the journal is available here, and the authors’ guideline here. Consult with the journal editors, about the possiblity to publish later than the deadline above.
• Multidisciplinary Challenges, Diverse Responses (MKSV): the journal invites studies based on empirical research, systematic literature review, methodological developments, or some novel critical approach in the field of management and organization. The journal is indexed in the international databases EBSCO, UlrichsWebs, ERIH PLUS and ProQuest. MCDR welcomes studies in Hungarian or English in the following fields: audit, controlling, finance, accounting / regional economy, economic policy / management, labor market, higher education / trade, marketing, communication / international economics / tourism, hospitality / law (economic law, European law) / sustainability, circular economy, ecological economics / agricultural economics, food economics.
