Department of Business Information Technology
The Department is responsible for the IT programme of the Faculty of Finance and Accountancy. It is primarily responsible for the undergraduate Business Information Technology programme in Hungarian and English and the higher-level vocational programme in Business Information Technology. It also supervises two-thirds of the courses offered within the above programmes. The Department is generally responsible for the IT courses taught at the Faculty. 

The instructors of the department offer courses on the following topics: ERP systems, banking system architecture, financial institution queries, banking informatics, IT modelling and application development, basics of financial and accountancy informatics, project management, material flow systems, logistics process modelling, process modelling, artificial intelligence, SQL business applications business analysis methodology, PLSQL in business applications, BigData technology, BigData analytics, data mining in practice, business intelligence, data visualization, knowledge management, computer science, data automation, business informatics, database systems, programming basics 1-2, OO programming, developing basic applications, computerised production management, SQL for business applications.

The Department conducts research in the following fields:

The study of the associations between data sets based on the shopping cart theory (also based on quantitative criteria - Big Data; Artificial Intelligence); process analysis of relationships among divisions in structured organizations; Machine Learning: who is suitable for which position (based on sample data); market/competitor monitoring for small businesses: development of data mining methods (including image analysis), digital maturity in SMEs; determination of digital maturity by the two-step Fuzzy method; methodological problems in the teaching of programming; applications of AI in various fields.
