Introduction
I am a seasoned and venerable faculty member with a background mostly outside of academia. Having exceeded the retirement age, my affiliation with BBS as a full-time teacher exhibits my commitment to educating future generations of economists. I have spent decades on the Board of the Hungarian Economic Association (1991-2023), served there as deputy (1990-1999), then full secretary general (1999-2004). I also served two terms in the mid-1990s as one of the two vice-presidents of the Confédération internationale des associations économiques. I am a devoted believer in international co-operation and thus in European integration. I am not a researcher but helped research in various capacities during my whole career - mostly as editor of journals, books, and other publications.
