The essence of the dual degree program is that the students admitted complete their third year at a Dutch university, plus one semester of internship either at home or in the Netherlands. In case of a successful thesis writing and defense, they can obtain both a BA degree from BUEB FFA and a BA degree from AVANS Finance and Control Studies. The tuition fee to be paid is the tuition fee to be paid at the BUEB FFA.

The subjects completed at AVANS are recognised in the BUEB studies, so that the student can gain 180 ECTS by the 7th semester, ie he/she can start his/her internship and be admitted to the final exam.

Two subjects are worth paying attention to: managerial accounting and complex analysis. If it is possible, we recommend to pick them up in the 4th semester, if not, colleagues from AVANS and BUEB will agree on the completion of the subject.

As the training period at the Dutch partner university is 8 semesters, a student in a dual degree must complete one more internship semester in the Netherlands, which is particularly beneficial for gaining professional experience. Many then decide whether to continue working abroad or returning home. The organization of the internship - for both internship periods - is done by the student himself/herself, but AVANS also provide support for this.

The diploma thesis must be written on the basis of professional experience in the Netherlands and defended in English before a joint committee - AVANS and BUEB. Upon successful thesis writing and defense, the student obtains a BA degree from BUEB FFA and a BA degree from AVANS Finance and Control.
