If you are interested in different cultures, you should not miss the events organised by the Department of Languages for International Business and the Oriental Business and Innovation Centre!
The BabelFest – Külker Foreign Language Festival is one of the most popular professional and cultural events of the Faculty of International Management and Business. The full-day program is opened by plenary lectures on topics such as language learning methods of the digital age and the usefulness of language skills in the labour market, followed by professional and cultural lectures in nine foreign language sections (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, Russian) with guest speakers from abroad and Hungary. These sessions are followed by student competitions (Pitch presentation competition, Who knows what, civilisation quiz related to the culture of the 12 languages taught at the Faculty) and cultural programmes (fashion show, experiences of Hungarian and foreign Erasmus students, multi-cultural gastronomic tasting, book fair, photo contest exhibition). The programme is accompanied by an HR Forum with representatives of foreign companies operating in Hungary.
The Oriental Business and Innovation Centre (OBIC) series of events entitled Dialogues with the Orient, which includes cultural lectures and programs, aims to thematically focus on current issues related to East Asia, including economy, international relations, politics, and culture, with the involvement of researchers, experts, diplomats, and business representatives. The events take place at the University's Markó Street building, typically with a large number of students and lecturers from the Faculty.
