In the framework of the lecture series honored corporate experts give lectures to the leading faculty staff on the main trends and challanges of their industry and company. The lectures are of great help to the faculty members to have adequate knowledge on the processes that are crutial for the future of the particular industries and professions, beyond the textbook materials. Integrating these type of knowledge into education makes our curriculum more up-to-date and future oriented.

Lectures

Dr. László Ábrahám - A career and its stages

Dr. László Ábrahám gave a lecture to the lecturers on February 29, 2024 as part of our Faculty’s lecture series called „Train the Trainers”. Through his own story, he presented the challenges of choosing a career and the difficulties of building a successful one. He flashed a glimpse of what he managed to learn at different types of companies, and what kind of experiences he gained.

He added that you can learn useful things even from negative experiences, but you have to be ready to change ont he right time if necessary. "It's always worth having a plan B so that you can move on if necessary." – He explained in his presentation The participants had the chance to get to know an eventful and very successful career."

Gábor Prószéky - Decades of language technology through the eyes of a Hungarian researcher: from spelling check to neural network language understanding

As part of the "Train the Trainers" program, on February 9, 2023, Gábor Prószéky, a mathematician and linguist who won the Széchenyi and Gábor Dénes prizes, gave a lecture at the Faculty of International Management and Business. 30 lecturers and senior colleagues of the Faculty participated in an extremely interesting and enlightening presentation named "Decades of language technology through the eyes of a Hungarian researcher: from spelling check to neural network language understanding".

The participants were able to learn how mathematics and linguistics are connected in the life of a scientist, and they enjoyed walking the path from simple syntactic description - with computers - to complex text creation.

The professor also answered how close or far we are from the future when machines will be able to "think" and create text. "

Zoltán Gazsi - How to survive the (energy) crisis?

October 6, 2022

"Zoltán Gazsi, the managing director of Eisberg Hungary Kft., gave a lecture at our Faculty entitled ``How to survive the (energy) crisis?'' The audience was able to learn the thoughts of a manager and the possible responses of a company that has been successfully operating on the Hungarian market for years to the given energy situation. The most important message of the presentation should be considered by everyone: by strengthening our internal security, building on community values and knowledge, we can get out of the most hopeless situation. There are tasks that need to be solved, and it really depends on us, on our change of perspective, whether they lead to insoluble problems or successful solutions.''
