Introduction

Annamária Horváth, PhD. is associate professor and Head of the Department of International Trade and Logistics in the Faculty of International Management and Business (FIMB) at Budapest Business School (BBS).
She took her degree in Economics in the Faculty of Business Administration at Budapest University of Economics in 1994, and then in 2004 she obtained her PhD degree for her thesis entitled “The relationship between logistics and customer satisfaction” at the Doctoral School of Business Administration at Budapest University of Economics and Public Administration.
She started her career as a Logistics Expert in the Logistics Promotion Centre (1994-2003), then worked as a Senior Consultant at Navigátor Ltd. (2003-2005), then she worked as a Deputy Head and Head in different fields of logistics at Richter Gedeon plc (2006-2010). Since 2010, she has been working as a lecturer of different logistics-, supply chain management-, forwarding and shipping - related subjects in undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate specialist training, and Higher Educational Vocational Training programmes in the Faculty of International Management and Business at Budapest Business School. Since 2014, she has been the head of specialization in Forwarding-Logistics, then Digital Supply Chain Management in International Business Economics undergraduate programme. Since 2017, she has been the Acting Head of the International Business Transactions and Logistics Department, and since 2018, she has been the Appointed Head of the Department of International Trade and Logistics. Between 2016 and 2018 she was the Chair of the Study Committee in the FIMB, since then she has been a member of it. Since 2017, she has been the Operative Coordinator of the cooperation between BBS Bosch Lean Management Corporate Department and Faculty of International Management and Business. Since 2019, she has been the representative in the Senate of BBS of the public sector employees teaching and doing research in the FIMB. Since 2020, she has been a member of the Curriculum Committee of the International Business Economics undergraduate programme. Since 2003, she has been a member of the Hungarian Association of Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Management; between 2012 and 2016 she was the Head of Educational Division. Since 2010, she has been a Member of Public Body of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (IX. Section of Economics and Law, Committee on Business Administration; at present a member of the Interdepartmental Standing Committee on Logistics with a right to vote).
In 2017 she was a member of the Jury in Business Economics Committee at the National Scientific Students’ Associations Conference (NSSAC), Győr and in 2019 she was the Chairperson of the Jury in Production and Service Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management Committee at the NSSAC, Pécs.
She focuses her teaching and research activities on the distribution areas of logistics, as well as strategic and operative issues related to logistics services and movement of goods (forwarding and transportation). She has published several papers on the subject.
Annamária Horváth, PhD. through her previous work experience, has a thorough knowledge of the operation of the competitive (for profit) sphere, she has extensive experience in the cooperation between university and corporation, as well as the practical implementation of corporate practices, and the realization of project works. She is present in the logistics life as a guest lecturer and teacher at several places.
