"My name is David Parker, I have been the native English-speaking lecturer at BGE since 2014, and more recently, I have been newly appointed as the director of the International Business Economics English Language Programme and Double Degree Programme. In the programme, we work to provide students with the opportunity to study business in English and enhance their opportunities. In the programme, students are also provided with the chance to study in one of four of our partner universities and gain a second degree.
I have over twenty years of teaching experience and I have taught all levels of English in both the private and public sector. I spent seven years working in the Middle East for Qatar Petroleum teaching English for Specific Purposes to both employees and trainees on-site and off-site. I also taught IELTS courses at Qatar Petroleum for senior employees wishing to study in universities in the UK and ran a number of successful report writing courses for graduate engineers and coaching classes to help graduate engineers with report writing and presentation skills. In addition, I also managed the Qatar Petroleum testing centre, constructing and providing computerized tests using the most up to date software available. The tests produced were used for the purpose of recruitment, training and promotions and up to one hundred persons a day were tested.
