Introduction

Judit Kónyi graduated with an M.A. in English Studies, in Hungarian Language and Literature and in Aesthetics from Eötvös Lóránd University, Budapest. She also obtained a postgraduate degree in Marketing Communication at the College for Foreign Trade.
She is senior lecturer at Budapest Business School, Faculty of International Management and Business, Department of International Business Languages. Her taught courses include Business English, International Negotiation Techniques, Presentation Skills, Business Communication, Business Soft Skills. Her main fields of research interest are the methodology of active-cooperative learning and nineteenth century American poetry.
Her PhD dissertation title is Emily Dickinson and the Bypasses of Publication. She obtained her PhD degree in 2015. She is a regular participant and speaker of conferences both on literature and teaching methodology. A few of her academic papers were published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing in Britain.
Her previous workplaces included the Hungarian Film Institute where she began her career as a research assistant and the Publishing House of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Akadémiai Kiadó, where she worked as an English language editor. Later she worked as a freelance language teacher and language examiner. She also gained experience as a translator (dubbing dramaturge) of English and French language films.
Between 2014-16 she participated in the language placement project of the UN Refugee Agency. In 2018 and 2019 she was granted Erasmus+ Teaching Mobility scholarship to Universidad San Pablo CEU Madrid, Spain and Universitá di Bologna, Italy, where she gave lectures on Intercultural Negotitations.
In 2019 she participated in the "Business Talk” project for dual training students. In the same year she developed the curriculum for the "Techniques of Persuasion in Business Presentations" training.
