Introduction
Peter Galbács is a Fulbright- and Bolyai-awarded economist and visiting researcher of the Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics, the University of Chicago. His research area covers the mathematics of microfounded macroeconomics with a special interest in the role dynamic optimization techniques play in the formation of recursive competitive equilibria. His previous works were mainly related to some methodological questions raised by Robert E. Lucas’ economics. In his recent book entitled The Friedman-Lucas transition in macroeconomics (2020, Elsevier Science, New York) he showed how Lucas used mathematics in creating very powerful abstractions to focus on the relevant aspects of social reality.
