Nine international guest speakers from BBU’s partner universities gave lectures on current issues in international business during the intensive week at FIMB. The program covered various current topics, like sustainable development models, intercultural communication in business, preparing for success in a tech driven world, managing disruptions and risks in supply chains, free trade agreements in a world of regionalism and protectionism, ethical practices in international business. The topics connected to marketing were especially interesting for the students, like the democracy of advertising, AI and social media in the age of digital transformation and new forms of communication beyond advertising. The lecturers brought different perspectives and up-to-date insights on the big global issues. Participants gained a deeper understanding of the global trends and tools to navigate the interconnected and fast changing world.
The lectures by Professor Ian Charles, organized by the Department of Communication, focused on the emergence of rock music in the UK during the late 1960s and early 1970s. He highlighted the significant cultural shifts of the era, sharing personal stories that illustrated its historical context. The discussions covered cultural, sociological, and artistic influences, significant moments, iconic musicians and innovative musical developments.
