Introduction
Dr. László Csonka is Senior research fellow at the Faculty of International Management and Business, BBS since September 2017. His activities relate to the work of the Centre of Excellence on Cyber-economy and currently the Centre of Excellence for Future Value Chains where the focus of research is on the fourth industrial revolution, innovation and technological development, innovation and global value chains/supply chains. His educational activities include teaching on innovation, start-up companies and digital business models. He is available for students to help their first steps into research, students’ scientific conference papers or thesis work. He is the representative of BBS in the Industry 4.0 National Technology Platform and with others in the A.I. Coalition. Before joining the university, Dr. Csonka had been Research fellow at the IKU Innovation Research Centre since 2001. His research focus was science, technology and innovation policy, economics of innovation. He was member of various research consortia funded by the EU RDI Framework Programs or other international organisations. He is regularly involved in national project applications and other assignments. Member in various national and international research projects, leader of a national project funded by OTKA (PD101410). He has accumulated knowledge about the performance and measurement of the Hungarian innovation system, on the linkages among elements of the innovation system, about collaborations and networking in inter-firm and university-industry relations, on the internationalisation of research, development and innovation, the role of multinational corporations in research and innovation, sectoral innovation systems, human resources of science and technology, on responsible research and innovation. He acquired experiences in public administration first in the Ministry of National Economy and later in the Department for Competitiveness at the Ministry of Finance. He was member of expert groups in EU coordination mechanism initiatives (ERA-Net, CREST) focusing on different aspects of research and innovation collaborations. He defended his dissertation at the Corvinus University of Budapest in 2010 which was about the role of research collaborations in upgrading capabilities of Hungarian automotive firms.
