Introduction

Katalin Czottner has been teaching in higher education since 1993. Throughout her career, she has taught language practice, translation, academic writing, courses on the cultures of English-speaking countries, and a range of skills development subjects. She believes that language learning should extend beyond the development of linguistic competence by fostering cultural awareness, independent thinking and critical reflection.
Her aim has always been to create a safe and supportive learning environment in which students feel confident to ask questions, express their own views and engage openly with different cultures and perspectives.
