International accreditations
NIBS (Network of International Business Schools)
The Network of International Business Schools (NIBS) is an association of more than 70 business schools from leading universities around the world. Working together, it delivers outstanding, internationally oriented business education that prepares students for success in the global economy. BUEB obtained its institutional accreditation from NIBS in 2017, and following a successful re-accreditation process in November 2023, the organisation renewed our membership for a further five years, until November 2028.
Institute of Hospitality
The BSc in Tourism and Catering and Msc in Tourism Management are accredited by the Institute of Hospitality , a prestigious international organisation. This distinguished organisation supports high-quality education and lifelong learning in the field of hospitality and tourism programme accreditation. Its members represent every area of the tourism and hospitality sector, and its accredited academic programmes are found worldwide, including in Canada, numerous EU countries, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and Australia.
CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations)
The London-based CIPR is the international professional body for PR practitioners, accrediting higher education programmes in PR and communication where the professional content and quality of teaching meet its standards. BUEB’s undergraduate programme in Communication and Media Studies is the first CIPR-accredited programme in Central and Eastern Europe, recognising that it meets the expectations of the profession and the sector.
Current and future students of the programme, whether studying in Hungarian or in English, are entitled to highlight its international professional recognition to their prospective employers. Students may also join the CIPR by following its membership procedures, thereby gaining access to numerous benefits such as professional resources and opportunities to participate in training and events.
ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
Our Finance and Accounting Bachelor’s programme and Accounting Master’s programme have been accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), one of the most prestigious professional organisations in the field.

AACSB International (AACSB) is a global non-profit association that connects educators, students, and businesses with a common goal: to cultivate the next generation of outstanding leaders.
IAU (International Association of Universities)
Founded in 1950 and operating under the auspices of UNESCO, the International Association of Universities (IAU) is the leading global association of higher education institutions and organisations.
EUA (European University Association)
The European University Association (EUA) represents more than 800 universities and national rectors’ conferences in 48 European countries. The EUA plays a crucial role in the Bologna Process and in influencing EU policies on higher education, research, and innovation. Through ongoing cooperation with numerous other European and international organisations, the EUA ensures that the independent voice of Europe’s universities is heard.
CEEMAN (Central and East European Management Development Association)
The CEEMAN is an international management development association established in 1993 with the aim of accelerating the quality advancement of management development in Central and Eastern Europe.
EURASHE (European Association of Institutions of Higher Education)
European Association for the Applied Sciences in Higher Education (EURASHE) represents universities and university colleges of applied sciences; its membership also includes national and sectoral associations of higher education institutions, as well as other individual institutions such as universities.
UIIN (University Industry Innovation Network)
The UIIN international knowledge leader in university–industry engagement, entrepreneurial and engaged universities, and knowledge transfer.
Times Higher Education Impact Ranking
For the second time, BUEB has been included in one of the world’s most important rankings evaluating universities on the basis of their sustainability activities, the Times Higher Education ranking. BUEB reported on its activities related to all 17 Sustainable Development Goals and advanced in every category, and, together with the other Hungarian universities featured in the ranking, plays a leading role in fostering sustainability.
The THE Impact Ranking examined the activities of more than 2,000 higher education institutions in line with with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
PRME Champion
The University joined the PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) Network in 2017. Supported by the United Nations, this initiative was established in 2007 as a platform to promote sustainability, to help today’s business students understand sustainability, and to equip them with the skills required for future change.
In both 2023 and 2024, the UN PRME Secretariat selected our University as a PRME Champion. The PRME Champions – business universities around the world committed to sustainability – aim to play a leading role in advancing management education in accordance with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
