Introduction

Zsófia Makrányi began her career teaching Business English in a corporate environment, primarily working with senior professionals, while also teaching General English at language schools across all proficiency levels. These early experiences shaped her teaching philosophy: she believes that successful language use depends not only on linguistic competence but also on communication skills, collaboration and the development of the soft skills that are essential in today's workplace.

She has been teaching at the University since 2003, joining what was then Budapest Business School (BBS), now Budapest University of Economics and Business (BUEB). Over the past two decades, she has helped students develop the language and communication skills required for professional success.

For more than twenty years, she has also been actively involved in language assessment at BUEB, serving as an examiner and regularly contributing to language examination preparation programmes.
