Introduction
Dr Zsuzsanna Bocz has been teaching at BUEB since 2021, where she teaches Italian and serves as an Italian language examiner at the CFLLE.
She began her academic career at the Departments of Italian Studies of the University of Pécs and Pázmány Péter Catholic University, where she taught Italian linguistics. She then spent a decade teaching at the Italian Cultural Institute in Hungary before working in higher education administration as Humanities Education Officer at the Hungarian Ministry of Education. Between 2005 and 2021, she taught Italian at the Foreign Language Centre of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, where she also served as Deputy Director of Studies from 2008 to 2016.
Her academic work focuses on Italian linguistics and the teaching of Hungarian as a foreign language. She has published extensively in Hungarian scholarly journals and is the author of a monograph on Hungarian as a foreign language. She regularly reviews academic publications, contributes to organising the annual conferences of the Hungarian Association of Teachers and Researchers of Languages for Specific Purposes (SZOKOE), and is actively involved in Italian-language assessment.
