She graduated from Budapest University (ELTE), taking a teacher’s degree in Hungarian Language and Literature and Russian Language and Literature (MA). During her university years, she was a member of Eötvös Collegium. In 2001, she acquired her PhD in ELTE Doctorial School for Literature. Ever since her numerous publications on subjects in both literature and linguistics keep appearing. In 2007, she became a member of public body of Hungarian Academy of Sciences (I Class Literature and Linguistics). In 2015, she joined the Society for Slavonic History and Philology, in 2016 she joined the Association of Russian Teachers of Hungary (VAPRJAL), between 2009 and 2012 she was a fellow of Bolyai Research Grants. Since 2013, she has been employed by the Faculty of International Management and Business of Budapest Business School. After a career at Teachers’ Training College ELTE University, Budapest and subsequently at the Faculty of Humanities, the same institution. She has established valuable professional contacts with Slavists in Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania and Bulgaria. She is the co-author of three textbooks of Russian, chiefly used in higher education, and the author of a monograph on contemporary Russian literature (published in 2018). She contributed teaching materials to the university course Hungarian as a Foreign Language, and also to the Russian section of Online Nyelvi Központ (Online Language Centre). She is a part-time lecturer and contributor to the Doctorial Programme Russian Literature and Culture between East and West, ELTE University. A student called Natália Szaviszkó under her supervision successfully defended her dissertation in 2019. Sheis regularly invited to doctoral procedures, hitherto 8 times as opponent, 7 times as the member of the board. She is the member of the Editorial Board of the Russian journal Педагогика искусства . She does proof-reading for the journals Anyanyelv-pedagógia and Slavica, between 2006 and 2016 she acted as scientific expert in issuing permissions for textbooks for Educational Office. She is member of the international research team ‘The Border Zone Paradigm: Russia and Hungary, Borderland and Crossroads in Cultures between East and West’ supported and financed by the Russian Fundamental Research Foundation (RFFI) bilateral, international team researchproject framework. Between 2017 and 2018, she was the Head of the Department Chair of Eastern Languages, Russian, and Hungarian as a Foreign Language, since 2018 she has been head of the Unit under the same name.
