Introduction

I graduated from the Faculty of Humanities at ELTE in 1987 with an MA in English and Russian, followed by a Doctor of University degree in 1997 and a PhD in 2008. Since January 16, 1990, I have been a lecturer at the Faculty of Commerce, Hospitality and Tourism at Budapest University of Economics and Business (including its predecessor institutions). In the early years of my teaching career, I was actively involved in course and curriculum development, in addition to teaching English for specific purposes. Over the last decade and a half, I have taught courses in research methodology, presentation skills and study skills.
From 2002 to 2003, I served as deputy head of the Institute of Foreign Languages of Budapest Business School Faculty of Commerce, Catering and Tourism, where I coordinated the grant application projects of the Institute. Between 2002 and 2009, I worked as deputy head of the Language Examination and Training Centre of Budapest Business School, and from 2010 to 2018, I led the Language Examination Centre of Budapest Business University. In this role, my responsibilities included managing research and development activities, as well as coordinating the operations of the Centre and examination locations. From 2018 to 2020, I headed the Institute of Foreign Languages and Communication.
In addition to my academic duties, I hold membership in several Hungarian and international professional organizations and contribute to the peer review process for both Hungarian and foreign journals. My publications are included in the Hungarian Science Bibliography. I am a public member of the Pedagogical Scientific Committee of the Philosophy and History Department at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
