Introduction

I have graduated as an economist-sociologist. I have obtained my PhD in 1999. Between 1988 and 1996 I worked for the Institute for World Economics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and between 1996 and 2020, in the Institute of Economics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Between 1997 and 2000 I was employed by the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris. Since April 2020, I am the director of the Institute of World Economics. I teach at BGE since 2016 and I am a member of its doctoral school. Besides BGE, I teach courses at the University of Szeged. I have more than 200 scientific publications, among which there is one book in English, twenty book chapters and 96 journal articles (of which 20 in foreign refereed journals). There are more than 1000 citations to my papers, and the summarized impact factor of my articles is 15.3. I am member in international scientific organisations (EACES, AIB-CEE Chapter, RESER, EADI), and I was the president of the European Association of Comparative Economic Studies between 2016 and 2018, at present I am the member of the advisory board. I am the co-convenor of the Multinational corporations working group at the European Association of Development Training and Research Institutes. I participated in numerous international and Hungarian research projects. I am member of the editorial board of Croatian Economic Survey and Post-Communist Economies.
