As part of its commitment to fostering an international and practice-oriented learning environment, Budapest University of Economics and Business successfully hosted two International Intensive Weeks, one in February and one in April 2026, welcoming nearly 80 students and lecturers from partner institutions across Europe.
February Intensive Week (9–13 February 2026)
The February programme focused on Cultural Tourism in Cities, offering participants valuable insights into the development and promotion of urban cultural attractions. The course explored key concepts such as cultural tourism segmentation, visitor motivations, and the strategic marketing of new attractions.
A highlight of the week was a case study on Budapest’s City Park (Liget) development, where students had the opportunity to experience firsthand the city’s innovative approach to cultural and recreational space design through site visits and interactive sessions.
A total of 29 students participated, representing institutions such as Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg Lörrach, Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences, Jamk University of Applied Science, Polytechnic University of Portalegre, Toulouse School of Management, University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, University of Maribor and West University of Timisoara.

The Short exchange programme at BUEB was a wonderful occasion to share current issues with students from all over Europe, from different programmes. It is truly beneficial to teach to a group of students from different programmes and different countries. It brings various disciplines and visions together and leads to insightful discussions and sharing of experiences. For us, teacher it is also a wonderful occasion to expand and strengthen our network to continue academic partnerships with partners that we know and have shared interests with.

My time at BUEB was characterized by a truly vibrant international environment, where the diversity of both lectures and students fostered a unique global perspective. I was particularly impressed by the high level of student involvement and their proactive engagement with the lecture topics, supported by consistently strong attendance that created a dynamic classroom energy.
The exceptional support provided by the staff ensured a seamless integration for visiting professors, allowing us to focus entirely on delivering content. Furthermore, the formulated topics were highly relevant, directly addressing the most pressing issues in the current financial and economic debate.
It was a great experience where we all had the opportunity to learn and share; the building of an international sense of belonging to this European project and the collective growth of knowledge were at their maximum. This is an academic space I truly hope to see flourish and occur again.

The goal of this mobility was to have a significant impact on the academic and professional development of everyone involved: starting with myself and extending to my colleagues, researchers, professors, and especially the students participating in this BIP (International Interdisciplinary Scholarship).
In addition to sharing examples, case studies, models, and new ways of looking at and thinking about communication, business, and ultimately, society and the community as a whole, direct collaboration with professors and researchers from BUEB will allow us to expand our international academic network, contributing to fostering research synergies that can lead to joint publications, comparative studies, joint applications for funded projects, among others.
Furthermore, this sharing contributed to integrating new international perspectives and best practices into the curricula of both institutions, supporting curricular innovation and alignment with European and industry standards.
Finally, the students were exposed to diverse international perspectives, which will necessarily improve their intercultural awareness and global vision, so fundamental today.
