As a responsible and sustainability-focused university, BUEB not only cares about its own community during the year-end period, but also works for the well-being of the wider society. This is why we are organising the highly popular BUEB Cookie Fair for the fourth time this year, with the aim of jointly supporting civil society organisations from the donations received.
We are once again looking for Volunteer Bakers and Helpers!
Do you have an amazing cookie or cake recipe you’d be happy to prepare for this occasion? Or would you like to join the Cookie Fair as a volunteer helper?
You can submit your application by 2 December by clicking on this link:
https://forms.office.com/e/6sAjRSVRvL
Event date: Thursday, 4 December 2025, between 9:00 and 14:00
Where we will be collecting cookies and donations:
-Downtown Campus – Alkotmány Street building (Colourful Community Space)
-Zugló Campus – Buzogány Street building (area in front of the “Moha Wall”)
And who will be this year’s beneficiaries? That depends on you!
As a student, you can vote in CoSpace in the #BGEaKözösségért space, and as an employee you can vote on the intranet – you can even propose organisations yourself. It is important that any organisation you suggest should be a foundation or public benefit organisation operating in Hungary. In addition to the name of the organisation/cause, please also include a short description of its activities and why you think we should vote for it.
Let’s bake from the heart and once again show how much we can achieve together as one team!
Frequently Asked Questions about the Cookie Fair
Can I both bake cookies and sign up as a volunteer helper?
Of course you can – and thank you for supporting us in several ways! In this case, please tick both options on the application form. As the event takes place during working hours, please remember to coordinate your participation with your direct supervisor.
Can I bring any kind of baked goods? Will there be a way to keep them hot or cold?
You can prepare any type of baked goods, but we will not be able to keep them chilled or warm. Please make sure you choose something that can safely be kept at room temperature for 1–2 hours.
Will there be gluten-free and lactose-free cookies as well?
That’s entirely up to you! If it is important for you that these options are available, we will be very happy to receive your special gluten-free or lactose-free creations.
I am allergic to some ingredients. How will I know what the cookies contain?
We will use small cards on the tables to indicate allergens next to each item. Colleagues who bake can mark on these cards if their treats contain any allergens. Please note, however, that despite careful preparation, cross-contamination cannot be completely ruled out, so please do not take any unnecessary risks.
What kind of tasks will volunteers help with?
We need your help with simple but important tasks: setting up tables, placing and serving the baked goods, and collecting donations. Don’t worry, we will explain all the details to volunteers before the event.
How much will the cookies cost?
We would like to raise as many donations as possible for the beneficiary organisations. There will be no fixed prices at the charity fair – each colleague and student will be free to donate according to their own means for the cookies they choose.
