Introduction

I am Vice-Rector for Research at Budapest University of Economics and Business, an Associate Professor at the Faculty of International Business, and Chair of the University’s Ethics Committee. As Vice-Rector for Research, I am responsible for research activities, the operation of the University Library, student talent development, and the development of international research partnerships and projects.
I graduated from the University of Miskolc with a degree in Business Administration. During my university studies, I completed a programme at the European Business School in Germany. I pursued my PhD studies at the University of Miskolc’s Doctoral School of Enterprise Theory and Practice and spent a research year at the Institute for Business Ethics at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). My doctoral dissertation was entitled “The Ethical Sensitivity of Hungarian Companies”. I also qualified as an accredited consultant in the German Centre for Business Ethics’ Values Management System. I completed my habilitation at the Doctoral School of Management and Organisational Sciences at Kaposvár University, with a thesis entitled “The Characteristics of Codes of Ethics and Their Integration into Practice in Large Companies in Hungary”.
I have been teaching at Budapest University of Economics and Business since July 2017. I currently teach Responsible and Sustainable Company, Sustainable Strategies and Practices, Sustainable and Responsible Business Management, and Responsible Management. Previously, I taught business and corporate ethics, consulting ethics, corporate and global corporate strategy, business economics, entrepreneurship, and courses on SME development and sustainable entrepreneurship.
I have authored more than 200 publications in Hungarian and other languages. My main research interests include corporate sustainability, corporate social responsibility, corporate and business ethics, and social enterprises. I have been a member of the European Business Ethics Network and the Deutsches Netzwerk Wirtschaftsethik since 1997. I currently serve on the editorial boards of Pénzügyi Szemle (Public Finance Quarterly) and Prosperitas, having previously served on those of the European Scientific Journal and Business Ethics and Leadership.
I have served as academic lead for several international Erasmus+ projects, including ISSUE and EFFORT. I currently lead the University’s involvement in the DEDYCATING Erasmus+ project. My consulting work focuses primarily on business ethics and sustainability. From 2007 to 2019, I served as independent Chair of the MOL Group’s Ethics Council.
In 2002, I received the Young Researcher Award from the Miskolc Regional Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. In 2014, I was awarded the title of Distinguished Educator of the University of Miskolc, followed by its Outstanding Supervisor Award in 2017. In 2024, I received the Gold Signet Ring Award from Budapest Business University in recognition of my contribution to the development of the University’s research activities.
