Budapest Business University

I am the Vice Rector for Research at Budapest Business University, an Associate Professor at the University's Faculty of International Management and Business, and the Chairman of the BBU Ethics Committee. As Vice-Rector for Research, I am responsible for overseeing research. In addition to co-ordinating research activities, I oversee the work of the Doctoral School and Centers of Excellence, international relations, and the operation of libraries. Central organisational units under my direct control include: Research Service Office, International Center, University Library, and Doctoral School. I graduated from the University of Miskolc with a degree in economics.
During my university years, I completed the European Business School’s international programme abroad in Germany. I completed my PhD studies at the Doctoral School of “Business Theory and Practice” at the University of Miskolc. I spent my research year at the Center for Economic Ethics at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). My PhD dissertation was entitled “Ethical Sensitivity of Hungarian Companies”. I habilitated at the Doctoral School of Management and Organisational Sciences at the University of Kaposvár. The title of my habilitation dissertation was: “Peculiarities of codes of ethics and their integration into practice among large Hungarian companies”. I have been teaching at Budapest Business University since July, 2017.
I am currently teaching the following courses: Responsible and Sustainable Company, Responsible Management, Sustainable Business, Corporate Economics and Entrepreneurship. Previously taught subjects include: Business Ethics, Corporate Strategy, Corporate Ethics, Consulting Ethics, Global Corporate Strategy, SME Development and Institutional System. In 2017 I received an Excellent Consulting Award from the University of Miskolc, and in 2014 I became a „meritorious instructor” at the University of Miskolc. I am the author of more than 170 foreign language and Hungarian publications. My defining research areas are corporate sustainability, corporate social responsibility, corporate ethics, business ethics and social entrepreneurship. In 2002 I received the Young Researcher Award from the Miskolc Regional Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
I have been a member of the European Business Ethics Network and Deutsches Netzwerk Wirtschaftsethik since 1997, and a member of the BBU Sustainability Network since 2017. I have been a member of the editorial board of the European Scientific Journal and the Business Ethics and Leadership (BEL) Journal since 2017, and of the Financial Review since 2021. I am the professional leader of several international Erasmus+ projects (ISSUE, EFFORT). My consultancy work is primarily in the field of business ethics and corporate strategy. In 2002, I obtained the accredited consulting qualification of the German Center for Economic Ethics as a “Value Management System”. From 2007 to 2019, I chaired the Ethics Council of MOL Group as an independent Chairman.
In 2017 I received an Excellent Consulting Award at the University of Miskolc and in 2014 I became a „meritorious instructor” at the University of Miskolc.
