Introduction
My name is Katalin Formádi and I am a full-time Associate Professor at the Budapest University of Economics. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Economics, majoring in Tourism and Hospitality, from Pannon University. After working for several years as a programme and travel organiser at a travel agency, I became a research analyst intern at the Research Directorate of the Hungarian Tourism Agency. After this, I enrolled on the full-time programme at the Budapest University of Economics (now Corvinus University), where I obtained a Master's degree in Sociology and Economics, specialising in public opinion research. After graduating, I worked at the Szonda Ipsos Media, Opinion and Market Research Institute as a tourism research manager and statistical analyst. I obtained my doctorate in sociology from Corvinus University in 2011, writing my thesis on the professionalisation of tourism professions. Since 2000, I have been involved in adult education, vocational training and the development and management of educational programmes. I have also been involved in planning and developing domestic and international research, development and marketing projects, as well as evaluating domestic and international tenders and projects. Between 2012 and 2020, I was a registered expert for lifelong learning projects at the Tempus Public Foundation. I also taught courses as a guest lecturer at the University of Business in Wrocław for several years. I am a member of the Hungarian Sociological Association and the European Sociological Association, as well as a public board member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
