I had my degree in German Language and Literature from the University of Szeged in 1997. I first had the opportunity to teach LSP (Languages for Specific Purposes) within the framework of BGE (Budapest Business University, formerly BGF) as a part-time lecturer in 1996. Over the years, I qualified as a tour guide and earned a Master’s degree in Portuguese Language and Literature from Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), followed by a postgraduate degree in Teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language in Porto. Working as a freelancer, I have provided interpreting, translation, and language examining services, and have taught general, military, and IT German, as well as Portuguese, at various companies and institutions. I spent eight summer seasons practicing foreign languages in the tourism and hospitality sectors, and I studied the Economic Policy of the European Union through a specialization course in Portugal.
From September 1, 2010, to August 1, 2024, I was a full-time faculty member at the Department of Languages for Business Communication at the Faculty of Commerce, Hospitality and Tourism. I defended my doctoral thesis in 2016 at the Doctoral School of Applied Linguistics of the University of Pécs (PTE). My academic research focuses on language policy issues (not limited to the Portuguese language) and the international and economic relations of the former Portuguese colonial empire. Since 2014, I have participated in the quality assurance processes of language testing in Hungary, first as a member and, since 2015, as the Chair of the Language Examination Accreditation Board. I supported the work of students engaged in scientific research, having served as the President of the TDT (Scientific Students' Association) at BGE KVIK from September 2023, and subsequently as the TDT Secretary at the Faculty of International Business from August 2025 until September 2026. Since January 2024, I have played an active role in the work of the Public Education Accreditation and Language Examination Accreditation Department of the Educational Authority. Currently, as a lecturer at the Department of Social Sciences, I primarily teach European Union Studies, International Relations and Negotiation Techniques, and International and Legal Studies. Furthermore, commissioned by the Camões Institute – Portuguese Language Centre in Budapest, I teach Portuguese as the university's Portuguese language ambassador.
