I have been employed as a full-time lecturer at BGE and its legal predecessors since 2001. I am currently a member of the Department of Social Sciences, where I teach in Hungarian and English. My courses focus on international relations, international economics, regional integration and intercultural issues, reflecting an interdisciplinary approach within the social sciences.
I began my studies at Eötvös Loránd University, initially reading History and English at the Faculty of Teacher Training, and later continuing at the Faculty of Humanities. I obtained degrees in English Language and Literature (1999) and Portuguese Language and Literature (2005) within the former undivided five-year programme. In 2015, I graduated as an economist from the Faculty of Business Administration of Corvinus University of Budapest. I also hold a professional qualification in English-language foreign trade correspondence.
During my studies, I completed the Literary Translation Programme at ELTE and fulfilled all academic requirements within its Doctoral Programme in Literary Studies. In 2000, I was awarded a translation theory scholarship by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to study at the University of Copenhagen. I defended my doctoral dissertation in 2023 at the Doctoral School of Linguistics of ELTE, graduating summa cum laude.
Between 2007 and 2010, until the birth of my children, I held managerial roles at the predecessor of BGE, serving as Head of the English Department and as Deputy Head of the Department of International Business Languages.
Since 2003, I have been an accredited examiner at the Language Examination Centre of BGE. From 2014 to 2016, I worked as a language examiner for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). In 2015, I participated in Erasmus+ staff mobility and taught at the Instituto Universitário da Maia (Portugal).
I attach particular importance to developing students’ intercultural competences and actively contribute to telecollaboration projects, Blended Intensive Programmes and Online Virtual Exchange initiatives. At the 2018 conference of the European Society for the Study of English, I co-organised and chaired a telecollaboration section with colleagues from the Czech Technical University in Prague. In 2025, I contributed to the development of an e-learning material for the BGE FIB course Intercultural Relations.
My research interests are closely aligned with my teaching profile, focusing on language, intercultural communication and international studies. I am a member of the Supervisory Board of the Hungarian Association of Applied Linguists and Language Teachers (MANYE). In recognition of my research achievements, I received the Scientific Award of BGE in 2023, and in recognition of my teaching achievements, I was awarded the Dean’s Certificate of Recognition by the Faculty of International Management in July 2026.
