for the Budapest University of Economics and Business Sports Scholarship

The Budapest University of Economics and Business announces an application for the University Sports Scholarship of the Budapest University of Economics and Business (hereinafter: University Sports Scholarship) for the fall semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, which may be applied for by any student with an active student status.
The purpose of the University Sports Scholarship is to provide support to students who, in addition to their university studies, have achieved outstanding national or international sports results and/or have performed sports organizational tasks within the BGE sports community.
The application must be submitted in the Modulo system (according to the “athlete” and/or “organizer” category), along with the following attachments related to each area:
Athlete:
- certificate of active membership in a sports club,
- club or federation certificate confirming the applicant’s highest achievement obtained between the end of the previous application period and the current submission (between 20 May 2025 and 30 November 2025).
In sports not recognized by the Hungarian Olympic Committee (MOB), points can only be awarded if the applicant participated in a university competition (e.g. bodybuilding).
- The accepted file formats for certificates are PDF (.pdf) or WORD (.docx).
Organizer:
A certificate issued by the Sports Office and/or another university organization, verifying sports organizational tasks linked to the university that were carried out between 20 May 2025 and 30 November 2025.
The certificate must include the following:
- name of the event / sport / program,
- date,
- short description of the event,
- the tasks performed and their explanation,
- the exact number of participants involved in the sports- or health-related part of the event.
- The accepted file formats for certificates are PDF (.pdf) or WORD (.docx).
In both categories, students can successfully apply based on their academic results, whose corrected credit index of the BGE (2024/2025/2) in the previous semester reached 3.0.
ATTENTION! There is no possibility to make up for deficiencies after submitting the application!
Athlete category
A student athlete may apply in this category if they have achieved outstanding national or international sports results.
Students who have been awarded the Hungarian Sport Stars Scholarship (Magyar Sportcsillagok Ösztöndíj) are not eligible to apply in this category.
Only the best results from the table below will be considered (participation + placement). Therefore, when submitting the application, please indicate the highest achievement and the corresponding placement for the period concerned.
The ranking will be determined based on the scoring system shown in the table. Only sports results achieved during the application period count.
Points can only be obtained in sports accepted by the Hungarian Olympic Committee (MOB).

Organizer
Students who have made a significant contribution to the promotion and implementation of BUEB's health and sports-related programs and who work closely with one of BUEB's organizational units can apply for the organizer category. University sports ambassadors, coordinators of university sports competitions, event organizers of health-related events, and team captains of university sports competitions can apply for this category.
The order will be determined based on the scores in the tables below, taking into account the number of participants in the event.
Only those with the highest scores from the results listed in the table will be considered. Therefore, we ask that you indicate only the highest score for the relevant period when submitting your application.
Evaluation of Applications
The scholarship is paid in a single lump sum, and its allocation is decided by the Sports Office.
The results of the applications will be announced in the Modulo system.
