Office of Education Co-ordination and Regulation

The Office of Education Co-ordination and Regulation operates as a support unit under the direct supervision of the Vice Rector for Education; its primary responsibility is to carry out university-wide education management and co-ordination activities, as well as to oversee educational regulation and quality management at the institutional level.

Responsibilities and competences of the Office of Education Co-ordination and Regulation:

a) Co-ordinating university-wide education management activities, including but not limited to: processes related to the start and end of the academic year; central-level scheduling and timetable planning; co-ordination of tasks related to the intensive week, etc.

b) Carrying out regulatory and monitoring tasks related to these education management activities.

c) Analysing university-level educational data in co-operation with the Office for Strategic Planning and Analysis, and based on the findings, making development proposals to the Rector and university leadership.

d) Operating the University’s quality management system and co-ordinating related activities, including providing professional support for the work of the Quality Management and Assessment Committee.


What does the Office of Education Co-ordination and Regulation do?



Management of standard education processes

Supervision of the process flow and annual scheduling of institutional standard education-related activities, as well as process management of regular educational operations; this includes continuous co-operation with the academic side and the relevant support units to ensure effective implementation.

Educational co-ordination support for faculties and offices

Providing support for faculty education co-ordination through continuous collaboration with the deans, vice deans for education, and Dean’s Offices of the faculties; this includes assisting in the resolution of ad hoc tasks, addressing emerging issues, and responding to arising queries.

Communication – Supervision of educational content on the website of the Budapest University of Economics and Business

Ensuring the up-to-date status of educational and education management content, initiating content modifications in co-operation with the relevant support units.

Process regulation and process development

Establishing procedural frameworks related to education co-ordination, process regulation, and process development.

Evaluating regulatory changes, formulating implementation proposals, overseeing the development of the Requirement System for Students, and reviewing other educational regulations and policy documents in continuous collaboration with the Legal and Regulation Office.

Proposing and actively engaging in IT developments to support processes.

Curriculum management

Co-ordination of curriculum modifications and subject developments, tracking the background administrative processes of these changes in collaboration with the relevant support units.

Data-driven decision support

Co-operating with relevant support units in data integration to support decision-making processes.

Participation in institutional projects

Professional involvement in current and future institutional projects.
