Select the phone option.

Type in your country code and phone number. Decide whether you wish to receive the registration code in SMS or in a phone call.

Type in the series of numbers you receive. When that is done, click on the Next button, and you are ready with the security settings, now you can recover your account with your phone.

Select the "Authentication app" method.

You may select multiple authenticator applications. Suggested option: Microsoft Authenticator.
If you wish to authenticate yourself with the Microsoft Authenticator, download the application from the Google Play Store or from the App Store, then click on the ‘Next’ button.

The Microsoft Authenticator may ask for your permission to send you notices. Select the ‘+’ button in the top right corner, then select the ‘Work or school’ option, and press the ‘Next’ button on the computer.

Select the QR code option, and scan the QR code with your phone and click on ‘Next’.

If you cannot scan the QR code for any reason, you can add the account manually. If you click on the ‘Can’t scan the image?’ button, you will receive a code and an URL address. On your phone, select the ‘Or enter a code manually’ option, and there you can enter the code and the URL address. Then click on the ‘Next’ button.

Once that is done, enter the number displayed on the screen into the Microsoft Authenticator.

If that is successful, your settings are ready, you can sign in to your account with an authenticator application only.

Select the ‘E-mail’ option.

Enter your e-mail address you wish to use for your authentication.

A confirmation code will be sent to that e-mail address, enter the code in the field below. When that is done, click on the Next button, and you are ready with the security settings, now you can recover your account with your secondary e-mail address

If you wish to recover your account with your secondary e-mail address, select the ‘Send e-mail to my secondary e-mail address’ option. If the e-mail address in the brackets is your real secondary e-mail address, click on the ‘E-mail’ button. 

Enter the verification code received in e-mail into the field, then click on the Next button. Then you can set up a new password.

If you wish to recover your account with your secondary e-mail address, select the ‘Send e-mail to my secondary e-mail address’ option. If the e-mail address in the brackets is your real secondary e-mail address, click on the ‘E-mail’ button. 

Enter the verification code received in e-mail into the field, then click on the Next button. Then you can set up a new password.

If you wish to recover your account with a phone call, enter your earlier registered phone number in the field, then click on the ‘Call’ button. Then you will receive a call, in which a machine says that Microsoft is contacting you, and if you follow the instructions, you can modify your password
